To celebrate the publication of The Cambridge Companion to Baseball, I will be moderating a panel discussion co-sponsored by Cambridge University Press and Fordham’s American Studies Program:
“Baseball in America, America in Baseball”
Here’s the all-star lineup of panelists:
Matthew Jacobson, Professor and Chair of American Studies at Yale University and contributor to The Cambridge Companion to Baseball
Omar Minaya, former General Manager of the New York Mets
Alan Schwarz, reporter for The New York Times and author of Baseball’s Numbers Game
John Thorn, Official Historian of Major League Baseball
Tuesday, April 26th, 6 pm
Fordham’s Loewenstein Building (enter at Columbus Ave & 60th st)
South Lounge (plaza level, off the cafeteria)
This informal, freewheeling, and altogether fascinating colloquy is free and open to the public.
The Cambridge Companion to Baseball will be on sale, as will books by Schwarz and Thorn, and we’ll have pens sharpened to sign them.
