Our graduate students are carrying their teachers’ water for them: witness the “Transferable PhD” conference, a collaboration by students at Duke and UNC . The conference, which will be held on April 1, centers on ways that PhD students can apply their talents and skills outside the academy. I’m honored to give the keynote.
