I’ll be taking a short break from talking about the woes besetting American academia, beginning at the University of Regensburg, where I’ll give a lecture drawn from my slow-moving project on American toughness.
Then I journey to Tutzing, where I’ll deliver the keynote address at Auto/Biographies in American History, the conference of the historians of the German Association of American Studies.
